Few Wildernesses compare to Sylvania. Here you will find 34 named lakes - some with sandy beaches, others surrounded by record-size red and white pines. This large natural area with its old growth forest and pristine lakes provides habitat for a wide range of living things. While canoeing Sylvania we might see threatened or endangered plants and animals - like rare orchids, bald eagles, loons and osprey. We will spend our time canoeing, camping, swimming, cooking for ourselves, and exploring the park's hidden wonders. Participants will canoe and portage along the water trail and within the interior trail systems of the park and will camp and cook in remote backcountry sites. The trip belongs to the whole group, so every camper will be part of the leadership and decision making of our adventure.
